Water Testing

Haller Water TestingAre you worried about your water quality? You should be. Many of the contaminants allowed by state pollution standards can damage your home’s equipment and even your health.

Residential Water Testing

The quality of your water has a big impact on everything from your health to the smell of your clothes and hair. Our water testing service ensures you have the right balance of nutrients without harmful pollutants streaming through your faucets. We test city and rural water for:

  • Iron
  • pH balance
  • Hardness

Additionally, an independent testing lab can check well water for:

  • Bacteria
  • Nitrates
  • If you’re ever worried the look, smell or feel of your water isn’t quite right, give Haller Enterprises a call. We will promptly collect a sample and have the results of our residential water testing back to you in record time. We’ll use the results to create the perfect solution for the challenges facing your property.

    High Iron Content in Water

Too much iron in your water generally presents itself as a red, orange or brown tinge. This sediment can build up in appliances — such as your water heater — and lead to necessary replacement or repair. Worse still, having too much iron in your water can also impact your health. This is especially true for people with kidney problems or those on high-iron supplements.

Physical symptoms of ingesting too much iron include gastrointestinal problems, such as an increase in gas, vomiting or constipation. Unfortunately, severe cases can lead to organ failure, so schedule drinking water testing at the first sign of a problem.

Problems Associated With Water pH and Hardness

Our water quality test will also check the pH balance of your water supply. Rates under 6.5 are acidic and corrode piping and appliance components over time. They also encourage the presence of high concentrations of toxic materials and minerals, such as iron and manganese.

On the other hand, pH ratings above 8 are a sign of alkaline water, which encourages calcium buildup and a bitter taste. This is also called “hard” water, and it’s known for damaging large appliances and making water difficult to use for key household functions, such as laundry, dishwashing and general bathing.

Our water testing service allows you to accurately treat the pH of your water, resulting in a neutral state. This “softened” water looks, tastes and smells better than water with a high or low pH rating and is better at preserving your home’s equipment.

Bacteria and Nitrates in Your Water Supply

If you live in a rural area and have a well, chances are you or a neighbor also have a septic system nearby. These waste management setups filter waste through a drain field before returning it to the ground. When a system is compromised, it can contaminate your water supply. However, nitrates and bacteria can come from other sources as well.

Bacteria can be the source of serious illness. This is especially true for bacteria coming from human or animal waste. Bacteria often cause flu-like symptoms, upset stomachs, gastrointestinal distress and dehydration. Nitrates, on the other hand, limit the transfer of oxygen through the body. Serious health conditions can result, including blue baby syndrome in infants and the elderly.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends that all wells undergo a water quality test each spring and whenever there appears to be a change in your water supply. However, no matter where you live, drinking water testing is becoming a higher priority.

If you’re concerned, Haller is here to help! Schedule residential water testing at the first sign of a problem to safeguard your health and home.

  • What Our Customers Say:

  • "I couldn't be happier with Haller. From start to finish they were prompt, professional and impressive. The salesman answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly, and the men who did the work on our house were knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our system the best it could be. I'm VERY glad that I chose Haller. We had looked at four other potential companies for our geo system. Haller wasn't the cheapest, though they were competitive, but they offered the best combination of price, expertise and service. I'm thrilled with our decision."
